WBNZ-FM SWITCHES TO 92.3FM AS “EZ ROCK 92.3”; WOUF-FM SWITCHES TO 99.3FM AND LAUNCHES NEW ROCK FORMAT
Frankfort, Michigan July 13rd 2009, Great Northern Broadcasting is proud to announce some changes that will allow us to serve northern Michigan even further. WBNZ-FM has switched frequencies from 99.3FM to 92.3FM to provide more area coverage while the 99.3 frequency has now become WOUF-FM. Both 99.3 and 92.3 were recently upgraded from 3,000 and 1,000 watts, respectively, to 50,000 watts signals. Listeners will notice quality and coverage area improvements immediately.
WBNZ-FM has updated its sound and has now become “EZ Rock 92.3, WBNZ”. With a fresher, approach to Easy Rock, WBNZ-FM can provide an upbeat and fun soundtrack to the workday across northern Michigan. EZ Rock 92.3, WBNZ will feature music from the biggest Adult Contemporary artists from the past 30 years such as Fleetwood Mac, Kelly Clarkson, Billy Joel, Michael Buble, Rod Stewart, Rob Thomas, Elton John, Taylor Swift, John Mayer and more! The new EZ Rock 92.3 will continue to air Benzie County high school sports as well as serve as an information source for the entire Traverse City area.
WOUF-FM has currently debuted a new “rock” station known as “99.3 The Wolf…Where Rock Lives”. The new station provides another option for passionate rock music fans and will feature groups like Metallica, Def leopard, Nickelback, Led Zepplin, Nirvana, Shinedown, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Green Day, and more! 99.3 The Wolf will also go against the talk trend that the other rock stations have taken and instead focus on playing music in the morning in addition to providing news and weather information to keep listeners up-to-date. In addition, 99.3 The Wolf will be the FM broadcast home to the Traverse City Wolves football team. 99.3The Wolf has also launched its website at wouffm.com
